Our History

Michael J. Pelletier is the principal and manager of the Housewright LLC. Joining the established firm of Zehnacker Construction in 1981, he quickly became a partner. The newly formed Zehnacker and Pelletier builders rapidly changed direction from new home construction to renovation and restoration work. The company was again renamed after the untimely passing of Mr. Zehnacker in 1989.

Passionate about old homes, Mr. Pelletier continued to eagerly study the architecture of our nation’s past. Through formal workshops, extensive reading, numerous projects, and investigating every available structure, he built a foundation of knowledge that he brings to the building site every day. This hands-on approach has made him very capable at a broad range of building and preservation skills.

From 1990 to 1994 Mr. Pelletier served as Restoration Coordinator for Historic Hudson Valley, a historic house museum company headquartered in Tarrytown, NY.  This association further refined his management skills and heightened his awareness of high level restoration practices.
